Wallace and Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl is being honoured at this year’s Academy Awards. The iconic duo’s latest outing has received a nomination for Best animated feature.

They are up against such titles as: Inside out 2, The Wild Robot, Memoir of a Snail and Flow. This is the 5th time Aardman have been nominated for Wallace and Gromit, whilst winning four of them.

Creator Nick Park spoke of his latest nomination, calling it both a “surprise and privilege” and explains that he still isn’t accustomed to the recognition; “”You don’t get used to it, you cannot expect it.”
Just a stones throw across the river from South Bristol, Aardman Studios are famous for their use of clay models as opposed to CGI and Park explains that’s not about to changeand describes the company as “”an amazing place to work” and a “privilege because you are surrounded by this powerhouse of creativity”.
Wallace and Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl, previously mentioned in South Bristol Voice, was released in the UK on Christmas Day and attracted the second most views of the day. Later released via Netflix, it was given 100% fresh approval rating from Rotten Tomatoes.
Nick Park has already received a CBE (Commander of the British Empire), but should Wallace and Gromit triumph again, will he receive a long overdue knighthood? Could another Academy Award be heading to a little warehouse in South Bristol?
