Avon Fire & Rescue Service (AF&RS) staff will have buckets, sponges and hoses at the ready for a car wash on Saturday 25 March as part of ongoing charity fundraising.
On Saturday (25 March), firefighters and corporate staff will open up Bedminster fire station for a charity car wash. The event will benefit an important cause; The Fire Fighters Charity.
Watch Manager Paul Henbest said: “It’s a privilege to be able to raise money for such an important charity that is close to the hearts of all of us here at Bedminster.
“We’re doing this so that The Fire Fighters Charity can keep providing their amazing services, and so that fire service staff can continue to benefit for years to come.”
Paul is also taking on a sponsored 100 kilometre walk of the Jurassic Coast, which he’ll tackle walking non-stop for around 24 hours.
In May, Paul will take on the fundraising expedition for the charity, which provides support services and treatment to more than 13,500 serving and retired members of staff from UK fire and rescue services.
Paul added: “After completing the 42 kilometre challenge last year, I’m looking forward to taking on the full 100 kilometre race this year. It’ll be a challenge but getting to see some of the most beautiful parts of the country whilst raising all important funds is an incredible opportunity.”
