I’d watch it all over again
Didn’t know what to expect at all but wow!
The Cher Show tells the story of how Cherilyn Sarkisian became the one and only global Icon Cher.
The lows, the highs, the heartbreaks, the stunning costumes and her signature style came together in a dazzling glitter fest to the sounds of her biggest hits, including If I Could Turn Back Time, Strong Enough, Gypsies Tramps and Thieves, The Shoop Shoop Song, I Got You Babe, and Believe.
Outstanding voices from Star, Babe and Lady played by Debbie Kurup, Danielle Steers and Millie O’Connell performed with accurate dress style, affectations and movements throughout.
Really listening to the lyrics, when they are stripped back to ballad, makes you realise how heartfelt and poetic Cher’s songs are rather than great pop classics
Costumes, choreography and staging make the show with constant changes setting the scene nicely. Great use of costumes, wigs and changeable screens to show the passing of time made each Cher rise and fall poignant in a beautiful way.
The finale was superb with audience participation showing a fantastic night was had by all. Definitely worth seeing.
The Cher show is at the Bristol Hippodrome until Saturday 28th Jan. Tickets from £13 so grab your friends and head for a fun night out.
