Review: Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at the Bristol Hippodrome

Last night’s performance of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at the Bristol Hippodrome was a lively and enjoyable production, with strong performances and impressive visuals.

Adam Filipe took on the role of Joseph with confidence, delivering a solid vocal performance, particularly in Close Every Door, where he showed real emotional depth. He was well-supported by a talented cast, all of whom brought energy and strong voices to the stage.

The ensemble numbers were well-executed, keeping the show’s momentum going throughout. The parents of the younger performance should also be very proud of the hard work their children put in, a huge congratulations to them all.

Our biggest commendation must go to the Narrator, played by Christina Blanco. Her unbelievable talent and vocal ability made the show what it was and shone from the start.

The costumes were vibrant and eye-catching, with Joseph’s famous coat standing out as a highlight. The set design, while relatively simple, was cleverly used to create different settings, and the lighting added to the atmosphere.

Overall, it was an entertaining and well-performed production that stayed true to the spirit of the show. Fans of Joseph will certainly not be disappointed.

Joseph is at The Bristol Hippodrome until March 22nd. Prices from £17
