The lights were bright in South Bristol

Last night saw the postponed Bedminster Lantern Parade finally hit the streets of South Bristol and what a spectacular sight it was!

Hundreds lined the streets as well as marched in the parade, marvelling at the hard work and effort put in by all involved to create these amazing lanterns.

South Bristol Voice spoke to one of the Parade leaders, award winning local pharmacist and all round BS3 hero – Ade Williams

“It is always very humbling for the volunteer organising committee of the Bedminster Winter Lantern Parade to see the joy, excitement, and community pride the BEMMYLANTERN Parade brings everyone.
The parade tradition of all local politicians leading in the front together, interacting with each other and the crowds, is itself a powerful display of our # Bristoltogether theme.

We can not thank our sponsors and volunteers enough for their support in delivering this 10-month project, which remains wholly volunteer-led.

Our new crowd-funding appeal for 25/26 is now live: www. https://www.lanternparade.org/. Reinventing and delivering this project is a tough ask, but together, we can keep the Bemmy light shining brighter.

Can you also offer us with your time and expertise? Do please consider joining our organising committee.”   Ade
