Support homelessness and sustainable shopping with this festive treasure hunt from Emmaus Bristol and NHS SCW
If you love a bargain, a charity shop and a treasure hunt – then look no further.
Emmaus Bristol has teamed up with NHS SCW (South, Central and West) to host a festive treasure hunt, combining fun with a cause.
Running from 3 pm on 4th December to 3 pm on 6th December, the event will take place across Bedminster and Stokes Croft, raising awareness of homelessness while promoting sustainable shopping.
Over the course of the 48-hour hunt, 20 green pre-loved items will be hidden near Emmaus shops. Clues will be shared on Emmaus Bristol’s Instagram and Facebook pages, giving participants the chance to track down treasures hidden in plain sight.
The two Emmaus locations involved are 72 Bedminster Parade, Bristol BS3 4HL in South Bristol and Backfields House, Upper York St, St Paul’s, Bristol BS2 8QJ.
Those lucky folk who find and return the items will receive a 25% discount (up to £10) on their next purchase, providing an extra incentive to support the charity’s mission. Any unclaimed treasures will be collected by Emmaus staff once the hunt concludes.
Emmaus hopes the event will showcase the value of second-hand shopping while directly supporting their crucial work, which provides housing, training, and support to people who have experienced homelessness.
Gratitude has been expressed to NHS SCW for their support in organising the event. Eight volunteers from NHS SCW will assist with the treasure hunt, ensuring that everything runs smoothly for participants.
With Christmas fast approaching, the treasure hunt offers the perfect opportunity for the people of South Bristol community to come together, have fun, and support a cause that makes a huge difference in the lives of others.
