Last night I enjoyed a night at the Bristol Hippodrome to watch the world famous and immensely popular – Hamilton
I was left speechless at this performance – having never seen it, I only had a rough idea of the story and how it was told through rap.
This innovative style is genius. At no point was the plot lost and the incredible vocal skills of the actors were simply amazing.
Despite the constant rap, beautiful Melodie’s and harmonies were still there, in particular with the song ‘Washington on your side’
The cast’s performance is nothing short of mesmerizing, with each actor embodying their characters with passion and precision. Whether it was Shaq Taylor’s stunning portrayal of Alexander Hamilton or the magnetic presence of Aaron Burr, played by Sam Oladeinde, every member of the cast delivered powerhouse performances that leave you on the edge of your seat.
The choreography is great, seamlessly blending contemporary and classic styles to create visually stunning dance sequences that add layers of depth to the storytelling and immerse the audience in the world of colonial America.
The set design is also stunning, transporting the audience through time with every scene change.
Hamilton at the Bristol Hippodrome is not just a show, it’s an experience that will leave you exhilarated, inspired, and eager to see it again! Despite its running time (almost 3 hours) the non stop energy and performances allow time to run away and you suddenly reach the interval!
