Brilliant from top to tail!

We were very lucky last night to be in the audience for the opening night of Shrek, starring Antony Lawrence as Shrek and Joanne Clifton as Princess Fiona.

From start to finish this show is a brilliant crowd pleaser with vocal performances which blow the roof off.

From the geniuses behind Priscilla Queen of the Desert and Hairspray, this exciting new production invites you to enter the fairytale world once again, where Shrek and his noble steed Donkey are ready to bring their hilarious adventure to a whole new audience. With a catchy and classic soundtrack, including ‘I’m A Believer’, and all the flatulence you could ever want, Shrek the Musical is the ultimate feel-good family night out!

With high quality performances from the whole cast along with strong vocals and superb choreography,  Our favourite moments include the song ‘Story of my life’ ,  and anything sung by the amazing dragon played by Cherece Richards – that dragon has serious singing talent

Stand out stars for us were as mentioned the Dragon, Princess Fiona, Donkey ( Brandon Lee Sears) and Elf (Georgie Buckland) who were all funny and super talented

But Antony Lawrence playing Shrek himself just stole the show. He gave us real tender hearted moments, great comedy between Fiona and Shrek and an amazing singing voice along with dance skills and the ability to draw the audience in and fall in love with the story.

Thank you so much for the brilliant night and lots of memories made

No one should miss out on this show but do expect lots of excited giggles and fidgeting from the younger members of the audience.

Shrek is on at The Bristol Hippodrome until Sunday 27th August. Tickets from £13
